1) Do I need to do all my landscape lighting at one time?
No, the amazing thing about landscape lighting is that you can always adjust to what your budget holds. You can only install one light if you like and just leave expansion room for the future.
2) Will landscape lighting pay off when I sell my home?
Of course! Outdoor lighting is a huge asset when selling your home. Proper outdoor lighting adds value to the architecture design and security of a property.
3) Will the finish on the outdoor lighting fixtures change color over time?
Copper, brass and bronzed brass will age over time outdoors. Finishes for fixtures installed outside have a high possibility to change color due to long exposure to sunlight, airborne pollutants and other types of weathering.
4) How should I prepare when shopping for lighting?
Know your budget so you do not start planning things too expensive. Second, look for pictures from magazines that reflect your taste and compare styles that accent your property.
5) Will a low voltage lighting system use a lot of electricity?
Low voltage lights are very energy efficient, particularly when compared to incandescent bulbs. A low voltage light can produce as much light as an incandescent bulb using 20 percent of the energy used by the incandescent bulb.
6) What is a LED light?
LED stands for Light Emitting Diode. LED\’s are solid state semiconductor devices that transfer electrical energy into visible white light. LED\’s do not have a filament; they burn cool and are safe to touch.
7) How do the fixtures stand up to the environment?
Landscape lighting fixtures have high quality, long lasting hardware. Our fixtures are sealed and stand up well in any environment.
8) How are the on/off times controlled?
Photocell, timer, or both. Photocells are sensors that allow you to detect light. They are small, inexpensive, low-power, easy to use and don\’t wear out. Also, timers automatically turn lights, appliances and irrigation systems on and off, saving you money, water and energy. Combining both of these features allows for the most effective timing control.
9) How long will the installation of lighting take?
We try to complete our projects in a timely manner. Each job is unique in its own way but we strive to complete it in 1-3 days.
10) Do you install solar lights?
We do not install or recommend solar lighting. A considerable disadvantage to solar lights is that they are not as bright or reliable. Solar lights only operate until the battery runs low. The length of time that the lights stay on at night is in direct proportion to the amount of sun exposure captured during the day.
